Aeroplan’s Preferred Hotels & Resorts Status Grant Offer

Aeroplan is currently offering a status grant opportunity in conjunction with I Prefer, the loyalty program of independent hospitality group Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Under the partnership, all Aeroplan Elite Status members and cardholders of Aeroplan co-branded credit cards qualify for Titanium status with I Prefer, which is valid for one year.

As with any status match or grant opportunity, it’s in your best interest to sign up if you’re eligible, since you never know when it may pay dividends further down the line.

Aeroplan Elite Status and Co-Branded Cardholders Offered I Prefer Titanium Status

With the current promotion offered by Aeroplan and Preferred Hotels & Resorts, holders of Aeroplan Elite Status and co-branded credit cards are being offered I Prefer Titanium status.

I Prefer is the loyalty program of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel group with a global portfolio of more than 600 properties in over 80 countries.

Titanium status is the highest tier of status in the program, which typically requires earning 50,000 points or more in a year.

To receive your status grant, register through the link contained in your email targeting Aeroplan Elite Status members and co-branded cardholders. Alternatively, you can sign up through this special link.

For verification purposes, make sure that you use the exact name in your Aeroplan account for enrolment with I Prefer.

If you already have an existing I Prefer account, you must request status verification through either of the following means:

  • By calling the Aeroplan customer service team at 1 800 361 5373
  • By contacting I Prefer directly through this link

Select “General Program Questions” and include “Aeroplan Promotion” while describing your request.

The terms and conditions don’t seem to limit the Aeroplan Elite statuses or co-branded credit cards that qualify for the offer. Therefore, you can apply for the status grant regardless of which status tier or co-branded card you hold.

Receive I Prefer Benefits When Booking through HotelSavers

Adding a layer to the partnership, Preferred Hotels & Resorts allows I Prefer members to receive their elite benefits when redeeming points for hotel stays through Aeroplan’s HotelSavers program.

Receive I Prefer benefits when you book through Aeroplan HotelSavers

This welcome development is rare, since hotel loyalty programs don’t usually allow members who book through third-party programs and platforms to access elite benefits.

To receive your I Prefer benefits on HotelSavers redemptions, make sure to quote your membership number during the HotelSavers booking process.

While you’ll receive your status benefits through HotelSavers, you won’t earn I Prefer points when you redeem Aeroplan points for hotel bookings, nor will your stay count towards I Prefer elite status.

As a reminder, the HotelSavers program lets you redeem your points on stays at participating accommodations using Aeroplan points, with a potentially lucrative Fourth Night Free benefit for co-branded cardholders.

Plus, with the current Points Back promotion, you’ll receive Aeroplan points back when you book eligible accommodations through HotelSavers until June 28, 2024, for stays through December 31, 2024.

What Are the Perks with I Prefer Titanium Status?

With I Prefer Titanium status, you’ll receive the following perks, amongst others:

  • Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi or enhanced internet
  • Access to member rates
  • Early check-in
  • Late check-out
  • Enhanced room upgrade
  • Welcome amenity
  • 50% points bonus
  • Complimentary food and beverage offerings
  • Digital anniversary gift

While I Prefer may not be as prominent as Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, or World of Hyatt, it’s certainly worth signing up for this status grant in case you’re travelling somewhere and want to give it a shot.

Opportunities like these are always good to take advantage of, especially with this offer’s low barrier to entry which simply requires having an Aeroplan co-branded credit card or any tier of Aeroplan Elite Status.

Plus, you never know when you might be able to leverage a status match from I Prefer to another hotel program down the line.

Besides, you won’t find it hard to leverage your I Prefer status and its corresponding benefits, since Preferred Hotels & Resorts has over 600 properties in more than 80 countries.

The group’s portfolio doesn’t only include luxury properties – it offers more modest accommodations, too.

For example, the Hakata Excel Tokyu in Fukuoka, Japan offers rooms for as low as $45–60 (USD).

With your I Prefer Titanium status, you’ll receive late check-out, a benefit you’ll likely find useful, since the hotel’s standard check-out time is 11am.

Conclusion

Aeroplan is offering holders of Aeroplan Elite status and co-branded credit cards a one-year status grant opportunity to I Prefer Titanium status, the top-tier status with Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

I Prefer Titanium status offers late check-out, enhanced room upgrades, a welcome amenity, a food and beverage voucher, and 50% bonus points, amongst other perks.

Adding a layer to the partnership is the ability to receive I Prefer benefits when booking through the HotelSavers program, which lets you book accommodations using your Aeroplan points.

As with any status match or grant opportunity, you should sign up for this rather generous offer, since you might benefit from it in the future.

If you’re interested and eligible, be sure to sign up before the status grant promotion ends on June 28, 2024.

Would have lived to see a bit more analysis of the benefits. Why does it say both “Earn an additional 20% bonus points per stay” and “Earn an additional 50% bonus points per stay”? What exactly does “Complimentary foods and beverage offering” mean? Is it breakfast or a drink at the bar or what? Are late check-in and check-out guaranteed or “subject to availability”? This makes a big difference in the value of these benefits and therefore whether I would book any of their properties even if the status is free…

It should just be 50% bonus points (the 20% is for mid-tier Gold members). The food and beverage offering varies by hotel, and could be free drink, a bottle of wine, a discount on dining, etc. Early check-in, late check-out, and room upgrades are subject to availability.
