Air Canada to Resume Toronto–Prague Route in 2025

After a six year hiatus, Air Canada is launching a new non-stop flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Prague (PRG) beginning in the spring of 2025.

Prague Airport took to X (formally Twitter) to make the announcement, saying Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline, will begin the new thrice weekly route from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport to Václav Havel Airport in Prague on June 6, 2025, through to the end of September 2025.

Air Canada to Resume Toronto–Prague Route in 2025

The recently announced route marks the first time Air Canada has flown non-stop from Toronto to Prague since 2019.

Flights will run eastward from Toronto to Prague on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays and back westward from Prague to Toronto on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

The route will operate with the following flight times:

  • AC934 Toronto (YYZ) to Prague (PRG), departing 8:25pm and arriving 10:45am the next day
  • AC935 Prague (PRG) to Toronto (YYZ), departing 12:35pm and arriving 3:45pm

The route will be serviced by Air Canada’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, offering a three-class configuration with 20 seats in business class, 21 seats in premium economy, and 210 seats in economy.

Business class on these routes will offer lie-flat seats, and each seat has direct aisle access.

The premium economy cabin features larger seats with more recline and extra legroom (compared to the economy cabin), and offers complimentary wines, spirits, and meals.

The Director of Czech Tourism, Michaela Claudino, took to Linkedin to comment on what she calls the “exciting news.” Claudino says the new direct route will provide a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the ties between Canada and the Czech Republic, adding that she can’t “wait to welcome more Canadians to experience the beauty of Prague.”

How to Book Air Canada’s Toronto–Prague Route

The new Toronto–Prague route covers a non-stop distance of 4,165 miles according to Great Circle Mapper.

For Aeroplan redemptions, this places the route in the second distance band on Aeroplan’s “Between North America and Atlantic zones” redemption chart.

Since this is an Air Canada flight, the redemption prices will be subject to the dynamic pricing model. The published ranges for the various classes of service are as follows:

  • Economy: 40,000–70,000 Aeroplan points
  • Premium economy: 60,000–90,000 Aeroplan points
  • Business class: 70,000–180,000 Aeroplan points

A quick search of multiple dates shows the economy class prices falling within the expected range, with a one-way ticket pricing out around 60,000–70,000 points for an Economy (Standard) fare.

Premium Economy (Lowest) fares appear to price out at around 110,000 points per direction on most dates, while Business Class (Lowest) fares are leaning towards the high-end of the dynamic pricing range with one-way redemptions pricing at around 185,000 points or more.

For comparison, the round-trip economy fares start out around the $1,500 (CAD) mark depending on the dates you’re looking to fly, with the business class cash rate coming in around $5,000 (CAD).

When booking an Air Canada flight, it’s always a good idea to use an Aeroplan co-branded credit card to earn bonus points on the Air Canada purchases and to enjoy some travel insurance coverage on both cash and Aeroplan award bookings.

The best card to use is the American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card, which earns 3 points per dollar spent on Air Canada purchases.† Alternatively, the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, the CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, or the American Express Aeroplan Card all earn 2 Aeroplan points per dollar spent on Air Canada purchases.†

The flights for this new route are already loaded and bookable through Air Canada’s sales channels, including the Air Canada website and the Aeroplan search engine.
