Etihad Airways Announces 10 New Routes in Largest Expansion Ever

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced ten new routes for 2025 with its largest global expansion ever.

The ten routes, all announced in one day, will complement Etihad’s previously revealed destinations of Prague, Warsaw, and Al Alamein, which will commence in 2025.

In its largest ever global expansion, Etihad Airways has announced it will begin flying to ten new destinations in 2025, all out of its hub in Abu Dhabi (AUH)

The new routes will complement the airline’s previously announced destinations for 2025: Prague, Warsaw, and Al Alamein.

Here’s a look at the new destinations, all to fly out of Abu Dhabi (AUH), and when they’re set to begin, starting with the only North American route addition of Atlanta, Georgia:

  • Atlanta (ATL) beginning July 2, 2025 with 4x weekly flights
  • Algiers (ALG) beginning November 7, 2025 with 4x weekly flights
  • Chiang Mai (CNX) beginning November 3, 2025 with 4x weekly flights
  • Hanoi (HAN) beginning November 3, 2025 with daily flights
  • Hong Kong (HKG) beginning November 5, 2025 with 5x weekly flights
  • Krabi (KBV) beginning October 9, 2025 with daily flights
  • Medan (KNO) beginning October 2, 2025 with 3x weekly flights
  • Phnom Penh (PNH) beginning October 3, 2025 with 5x weekly flights
  • Taipei (TPE) beginning September 7, 2025 with daily flights
  • Tunis (TUN) beginning November 1, 2025 with 3x weekly flights

The Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Atlanta (ATL) route will be flown on the airline’s Airbus A350-1000, the newest addition to Etihad’s fleet. The aircraft offers 44 forward-facing suites in business class with sliding privacy screens and lay-flat seats.

There are 327 seats in economy in a 3-3-3 configuration. Each seat features a five-inch recline with an adjustable hammock-style headrest and retractable bi-folding table.

The Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Taipei (TPE) and Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong (HKG) routes will both be flown on Etihad’s Boeing 787-9. The aircraft features eight closed suites in First Class, 22 lay-flat seats in business class, and 195 standard seats in economy class.

The remaining seven routes will all be flown on Etihad’s Airbus A321LR which offers 16 recliner seats in business class and 158 seats in economy.

2025 Marks Pivotal Year for Etihad

Etihad says the new route additions will bring tens of thousands of new visitors directly to Abu Dhabi, boosting its position as a premier destination for leisure, business and cultural tourism.

Chief Executive Officer for Etihad, Antonoaldo Neves, says the expansion is a reflection of the airline’s commitment to listening to what its customers want.

Neves says 2025 marks a pivotal year for Etihad, with more than 90 destinations in over 50 countries and a fleet of more than 110 aircraft.

He calls the announcement an incredible milestone that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the team at Etihad and its guests. Neves adds, “Launching ten new destinations in a single day underscores our unwavering commitment to growing our airline with a fantastic route network and world-class customer-focused service.”

As Etihad accelerates its growth, the airline says its loyalty program, Etihad Guest, will also expand offering more guests the opportunity to earn and redeem miles as well unlock exclusive benefits.
