Video: Flying During the Pandemic

This week, I stepped onboard a plane for the first time in almost three months for my first flight during the pandemic.

With no one chartering their fleet of three all-business-class Jetz Airbus A319s at this time, Air Canada has made these flights available for passengers to book on the Toronto–Montreal and Toronto–Ottawa routes during the month of June.

So when Jessy and I needed to travel back to Montreal, we decided to try out this rare opportunity to fly in a great deal of comfort and exclusivity on this one-hour journey.

Along the way, it was illuminating to see how the travel experience has been radically transformed thanks to COVID-19, with a heavier emphasis on hygiene, cleanliness, and minimal crew interaction above all else.

You can read the full review of the flight here, and without further ado, you can watch the video below:

    Hi Ricky,
Regarding the service on board for the next ??? months, I expect that once the « surgeon » takes me to my seat, I will have access to the same food and wines as usual (in J and F).
And for me, choosing to fly in J or F is for the whole experience, including lounge.
It is once at destination that I expect the experience to be somewhat less interesting because of the protection measures.

The video of the take off was oddly satisfying, thank you!

Hey Ricky, is there mandatory 14-day quarantine required after landing?

      He never left the country.

    Hi Ricky,

I guess It will be the same situation for international flights something like no meal service and etc?

For now, that’s what’s happening. Even international flights in business class only get a meal box and water.

I’d expect the service to gradually resume in the future, though there’s no telling as to when.

Ricky, is all you do shitty promo videos of Air Canada and Aeroplan products? Or are you ever going to stop ass-kissing AC, man up and cover Aeroplan MPM?

I forgot to mention it in the video, but in this case the direct distance of 316 miles was well within the MPM for YYZ-YUL.
