WestJet has sent out limited-time offer emails to select cardholders of the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard and the WestJet RBC® Mastercard.
If you’re eligible, you can convert your companion voucher into WestJet Dollars, which must then be used to book a WestJet Vacations package.
The amount of WestJet Dollars your companion voucher will be converted to depends on which credit card you currently hold and the offer you’ve received:
- WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard companion vouchers can be converted into 200 or 300 WestJet Dollars for WestJet Vacations packages
- WestJet RBC® Mastercard companion vouchers can be converted into 100 WestJet Dollars for WestJet Vacations packages
If you choose to convert your companion voucher, the WestJet Dollars will expire on the same date as your companion voucher would have. For example, if your voucher was set to expire on December 1, 2023, your converted WestJet Dollars will also expire on that date.
Therefore, make sure you’re able to use them before they’re set to expire. You can combine them with your existing balance of WestJet Dollars available in your account.
You must register to make the exchange, using the link provided in the email. Registration takes place from November 8–22, 2023, and then you’ll need to make your booking prior to the expiry date of the converted WestJet Dollars.
The converted WestJet Dollars will appear in your account within seven days of making the request.
There aren’t any restrictions on travel periods, and all WestJet Vacations packages are eligible for booking with the converted WestJet Dollars. Your WestJet Dollars will be applied against the base package price of any WestJet Vacations booking, and you’ll still need to pay the remaining balance, as well as the applicable taxes and fees.
If you have multiple companion vouchers available in your account, you’re able to convert them all into WestJet Dollars through this promotion.

This is just another BS ploy by westjet to “add value” to their credit cards, without adding any real value at all. Everyone knows booking an airline sponsored ‘vacation package’ is about the most expensive way to book a trip to a particular destination. Allowing you to turn in your companion vouchers for such a paltry ‘reward’ just goes to show how little the companion vouchers are actually worth from a company like Westjet.
The hard push by Westjet/RBC on these credit cards is getting embarrassing. It wouldn’t be so bad if the flying experience was better than it’s competitors, but Westjet just won “Least On-Time Airline in North America”. Terrible lounge network, no airline alliance, no way to transfer points to better airline programs, nickle-&-diming like a budget carrier for everything, old planes, only 4 random codeshare partners you’ll never use, and shrinking domestic network, all leave me looking for better options when planning a flight.
