Bilt Rewards Launches Partnership with Alaska Airlines

In mid-March, the US loyalty program Bilt Rewards has announced a new strategic partnership with Seattle-based Alaska Airlines.

Through the partnership, Bilt Rewards members can now transfer Bilt Points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio.

In addition, as of today, May 15, 2024, holders of the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card are incentivized with 3x miles when they pay their rent through the Bilt platform, up to $50,000 (all figures in USD) annually.

Bilt Rewards Launches Partnership with Alaska Airlines

Bilt Rewards, a transferrable points program based in the US, has launched a strategic partnership with Oneworld carrier Alaska Airlines.

As of March 15, 2024, Bilt Points can be transferred to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio. With this development, Mileage Plan becomes the 16th transfer partner for Bilt Rewards.

Bilt Rewards becomes one of the few loyalty currencies to enable conversions to Alaska miles, joining Marriott Bonvoy and a few other hotel programs.

In addition to the 1:1 points transfers, Bilt Rewards and Alaska Airlines have now launched an exciting and innovative angle to their partnership as of May 15, 2024, in which holders of the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card earn 3 Alaska miles per dollar spent when they pay their rent through Bilt, up to a maximum of $50,000 per year.

In case you aren’t familiar, one of Bilt’s mainstay features is the ability to pay rent with a credit card, which is now accelerated by this partnership for Bank of America and Alaska Airlines co-branded cardholders.

Bilt Rewards Becomes Even More Compelling

The addition of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan to Bilt’s list of transfer partners adds more value to an already impressive roster.

On top of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, the highly flexible Bilt Points can be transferred to the following airline loyalty programs:

Meanwhile, its hotel loyalty program transfer partners are:

Being one of the few loyalty programs to enable transfers to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan makes Bilt Rewards an even more compelling player in the loyalty space.

Note that Alaska miles aren’t as easily earned as other airline currencies, since they can only be earned through the Bank of America co-branded credit cards, crediting Oneworld paid flights, converting hotel points, and the Alaska Airlines shopping portal.

Since debuting in 2021, Bilt Rewards has constructed a very strong platform, with unique incentives such as Bilt Rent Day, which features time-sensitive transfer bonuses and other monthly incentives.

For example, in February 2024, you could get up to a 150% transfer bonus when converting Bilt Points to Aeroplan

Even better, members don’t even have to hold the Bilt Mastercard to benefit from the program. Anyone can earn and redeem points and derive value out of Bilt Rewards, especially through Bilt Wallet, a feature that allows members to link credit cards from other issuers to their Bilt accounts.

Linking credit cards allows Bilt members to earn Bilt Points on neighbourhood spending in select purchases and categories, in addition to the standard rewards they’ll otherwise earn with their linked cards.

These innovative means to earn points sets Bilt Rewards apart from other credit card loyalty programs, since you don’t necessarily have to hold its credit card to participate meaningfully in the program.

Conclusion

Bilt Rewards and Alaska Airlines have launched a strategic partnership, wherein Bilt Rewards members will be able to transfer points to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan at a 1:1 ratio starting March 14, 2024.

In addition, starting May 15, 2024, holders of the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card are incentivized with triple miles when they pay rent through the Bilt platform.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan joins Bilt Rewards’s long list of airline and hotel transfer partners, making Bilt an even more compelling program in the loyalty space.

I have the same concern, and since the annual fee is coming up, I don’t find it worth spending $120, waiting indefinitely whether the AS miles conversion will or will not take place. They’ve had their chance for ten some months now!

Any update on when will MBNA Rewards transfer to Alaska Mileage Plan?

I recently called MBNA and the rep said it should be done by the end of the summer

Hi Gordon. There has been no news on that front, unfortunately. But you can rest assured we will have an article about it as soon as we hear anything.
