SAS Launches Copenhagen–Seattle Flights in 2025

After a 15-year hiatus, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will resume flights from Copenhagen to Seattle next May, making it the third new route the airline will offer to the Western United States.

This service resumption gives another option to passengers hoping to access Scandinavia with non-stop service from the West Coast.

Beginning May 21, 2025, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will resume service between Copenhagen (CPH) and Seattle (SEA), a route SAS last served back in 2009.

It’s the third route the airline will offer to the Western US, with San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) being the other two.

SAS is resuming service to Seattle after a 15-year hiatus

News of the Copenhagen–Seattle route comes just weeks after SAS officially became a member of SkyTeam, putting an end to its 27-year membership with Star Alliance.

Starting May 21, 2025, SAS will offer five round-trip flights per week between Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) with the following flight times:

  • SK937 Copenhagen (CPH) to Seattle (SEA) departing 1:05pm, arriving 2pm
  • SK938 Seattle (SEA) to Copenhagen (CPH) departing 4:20pm, arriving 11am the following day

When the route commences in May of next year, service will be operated on SAS’s Airbus A350-900, before switching to an A330-300 in June.

The A350-900 accommodates 300 passengers in a standard three-class configuration featuring a spacious, elegantly-lit cabin with wider seats.

There are 40 seats in SAS business class, 32 in SAS Plus (premium economy), and 228 seats in SAS GO Class (economy). The business seats are configured in a 1-2-1 layout with direct access to the aisle at each seat.

Passengers will find a new and improved bi-fold meal table which includes a personal entertainment device holder and larger entertainment screens than the A330-300 has.

SAS Plus is configured in a 2-4-2 layout and offers passengers a higher level of comfort compared to SAS GO Class.

The Airbus A330, which will operate the route as of June 2025, features a three class configuration with 32 flat bed business class seats, 56 SAS Plus seats, and 174 seats in standard economy class.

Fly non-stop between Seattle and Copenhagen as of May 2025

Saying the airline is excited to expand its North American network with the addition of Seattle, SAS President and CEO Anko van der Werff says “the route from Copenhagen will provide more travel options for our customers and strengthen the connection between Scandinavia and the Pacific Northwest, a region of growing economic importance with deep Scandinavian roots.”

With Seattle added to the network, SAS will offer non-stop flights to 11 North American gateways, further enhancing its global connectivity from Copenhagen Airport, serving as a key international gateway to and from Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

The SkyTeam member has gradually opened reservations for flights next May.

Earlier this month, Air France KLM Flying Blue added SAS Scandinavian Airlines as its newest partner for earning and redeeming miles.

While we couldn’t find any dates with award seats available at the time of writing, it’s worth keeping an eye out for them given the award pricing we’ve seen has been very reasonable in both miles and taxes/fees.

Conclusion

Beginning May 21, 2025, Scandinavian Airlines will resume service between Copenhagen and Seattle, a route SAS hasn’t served for 15 years.
