Our ongoing “When Can We Travel?” series has taken a downbeat turn this month with the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 around the world. All of a sudden, the prospects for travel returning in full force in 2022 now look a lot dimmer than before.

I have a trip to Japan planned in early April (Aeroplan and Alaska Miles flight redemptions) so I try to remain optimistic and not burn my passport yet 😉
